Camping Tents

Do you know how to select a good camping tent for yourself? There are several things you need to consider before you buy one. One thing you need to take a look at is what you will be using the tent for and what type of camping you plan on doing.

For instance, if you're planning to do trekking, the camping tent will have to be transported by you during the whole time you are outdoors. This would imply that you not choose one that is big and bulky. Camping tents also come in a variety of fabrics. Some of them include cotton, nylon, polyester and canvas. One problem with cotton is that it absorbs a large amount of water. In this regard, nylon and polyester are lighter in weight and easier to manage.

Camping tents are able to accommodate anywhere from one to ten individuals, and they are made in a way that it is easily transportable by a car. As far as setting up the tent is concerned, this tedious task may take anywhere from 5 – 25 minutes. While some of these tents are able to stand on their own, others need to be tied to the ground via ropes that are attached to pegs on the tent.

Big tents that can fit a large number of individuals will need to be transported using a vehicle. However, for those who prefer to camp by themselves, there are smaller options available. These are so light that they can be carried for a long distance inside a backpack, for example. Additionally, they may also be carried on a bicycle or a boat, as well.

Should you have plans to go camping for a long period of time – say a couple of weeks – then you will need to rely on a tent that offers more options for comfort. Here, it may be wise to get a camping tent that is large and roomy so that two weeks worth of supplies and equipment can be stored.
