Teardrop Camper

Do you know what a teardrop camper is? Here's the definition: A teardrop camper is a very small camper trailer that comes with the bare minimum necessities. And it can be used for a weekend getaway in camping comfort.

The camper was first manufactured by a man from Pasadena, California – Louis Rogers. During the latter half of the 1930s, Rogers' plans for honeymoon coaches became immensely popular because they were simple in design, offered convenience and was easy to pull using small vehicles.

The teardrop camper's streamlined and light weight pattern has pretty much remained the same over the years. However a few changes have been made to improve the camper's quality.

The teardrop campers available now are built especially for on-road and off-road use. They come fully built with all the basic amenities that one would need on a camping trip. There is ample room for storage, on the inside and outside. A water supply system along with a sink are also fitted in the camper. In addition, AC and DC power outlets are built in, while some campers even have a kitchen dining table, and couch/bunk bed convertibles.

The body sizes of the teardrop camper varies along with the inside sleeping and kitchen areas. Most teardrop trailers are made with a stucco aluminum external lining. And they come with strong framework and sideboards. There is an entry door, and sliding windows to match. And this camper also has a air ventilation opening on the top. The best part of all, teardrop campers have their own entertainment centers with a nice stereo and CD system. And the kitchenette comes with lights and a cover for the stove.

The biggest modification from the original teardrop campers has been the use of fiberglass rather than a tin metal covering on the outside. Among other facilities in the camper is a standing room area, a double bed, a closet, and a chemical toilet.
